Brooklyn meets the City Too Busy To Hate

Close your eyes and imagine a city with golden topped buildings, hydrangea bushes dotting close knit working class neighborhoods, parking lots lined with shiny cars. Sounds like Brooklyn? Well, I'm talking Atlanta.

In June, I made a calculated pit stop in Georgia after leaving Historic New Orleans Collection and Dillard University's event titled Creole Sweet: The Praline and Its World. My goal -- let the inciting dixie sweet smells take me down memory lane. In the New York of the South, my first piece of business included hosting a BK meets ATL Happy Hour. You see, I lived in Atlanta from 1996-2008 before parking in the land of artisanal everything.

I'm a staunch supporter of entrepreneurs building piehole focused empires and drove home the point at Westin Buckhead Atlanta. I was honored to have Morris Kitchen signature cocktails flowing the entire evening!  Also, a huge southern girl's hug to First Prize Pies, Heritage Foods USA, Heritage Radio Network, The Southern Pantry, Tasty Morsels Bakery, Greg Ponder, Jordan A. Colbert, Flour Creations and With Love from Brooklyn for donating the gotham swag, services and eats.
